On the Tenth Day of Christmas

This was the most wonderful night so far!  We went in to DC to see the National Christmas Tree.  While we were there we saw a little cottage close by that had a sign reading "Santa's Workshop".  We wandered over where a nice lady told us to get in line for our free picture with Santa.  We obliged and found ourselves in the most charming "toy workshop" where Santa Claus and his wife were visiting from the North Pole.

Eliza was not sure what to think of Mrs. Claus, who was so jolly and told us that she likes to go with Santa sometimes on his sleigh rides on Christmas Eve.  She was wonderful!

Then it was time to meet Santa.  He was dressed in his finest and welcomed Eliza with open arms.  The whole time we waited in line Eliza kept pointing and straining to see Santa.  We asked her over and over if she wanted to meet Santa and sit on his lap.  She kept saying "ya ya".  When it was her turn, she bravely sat on his lap and let the nice elf take her picture.  Santa gave her a little flashing light to pin on her coat.  She was mesmerized by everything!

(The picture with Santa is coming according to Underwriters Laboratories...they sponsered the event.  They gave us a card with directions to access the picture but it hasn't been loaded to the site.  We didn't take another with our point and shoot...I don't know why other than there was a long line and we felt rushed!  So I hope theirs turns out and we get it soon.  I will share it then.)
