Grandma and Grandpa (or as Z calls them Nana and Papa) Sheneman are here visiting us. Eliza is thrilled! She has learned her last name is Empey (it sounds so cute to hear her say it) and has learned that she has two sets of Grandparents, Empey and Sheneman. But she really can't say Sheneman. She kept asking me if Nana and Papa Empey were coming and I would say, "No, Sheneman." She would try to say it but always ended up saying Empey. I even heard her tell all her stuffed animals that Nana and Papa were coming, then as if correcting her animals she would say "No Empey". But she still couldn't say Sheneman. Even after they were here she kept trying to get their attention by saying Empey. Finally she gave up on the last name and just says Nana and Papa.
The night before they came she decided Nana needed a balloon and flowers. She kept talking about it all night and all the next day. So before we left for the airport we stopped and let her pick out the flowers and balloon. She was really excited to give them to Grandma.
Here she is with the balloon and flowers (and orange "smiles" for Grandpa). She is a bit zoned with no nap that day. But she perked up when she had her grandparents there.
Here she is posing for me as Grandpa takes a picture in the Library of Congress.
Who knows what this is, but as we met Nick in DC for lunch she sat down and thought it was funny.
On Mother's Day we took a walk with Nana and Papa before church. Eliza had to bring the balloon.
Grandma made sure to get her attention and kept her laughing!
Best friends. She won't hold my hand, but she won't let Grandma out of her sight.

The pictures of Eliza and her Grandma are priceless! I love her!
ReplyDeleteSuch a thoughtful girl to want to get her grandma some balloons and flowers. Liza looks darling (as always) in these pictures. So fun that your mom could be in town for mother's day!
